Mission Statement

Our mission is to tackle the challenge of color blindness by harnessing the expertise of our multidisciplinary team, comprised of individuals specializing in engineering, computer science, and medicine. Through innovative approaches that extend beyond the realm of traditional medicine, including advancements in fiber optics and digital image processing, we aim to provide effective solutions for individuals with color blindness. Our commitment lies in offering a fresh perspective to address this issue and enhance the quality of life for those affected

Our goal is to present a thesis by the end of our senior year, and to create a working prototype as a cumulation of our research. We have 3 main subgroups working to achieve this.
Programming: Simulating and validating mitigation solutions
developed by other subteams via MATLAB.
OPA Subteam: Proving the effectiveness of Optical Parametric Amplification as a solution to colorblindness. Proving the effectiveness of Optical Parametric Amplification as a solution to colorblindness and developing a simplified model of human cone response to increased light intensity.
Better Filter: Developing a filter that selectively blocks the 11nm of light associated with confusion lines and developing a lens for glasses & contacts.
